The recipes on this site are broken up into the following major categories-

  • Traditional Herbal Medicinal Recipes
  • Food and Drinks
  • Herbal based Cosmetic Recipes
  • Cleaning and Other Uses
Many of these herbal recipes are traditional recipes stemming from over 100 years ago.

A word of CAUTION! Before consuming plants, it is important to understand that not all parts of edible plants are edible.

Examples of this include: The white portion of rose petals should be removed before consuming rose petals. Dandelion petals should be removed from the green base.

You should also know if the plants were sprayed with anything, such as pesticides before attempting to eat them. ALWAYS double check the plant for toxicity information- much of the information on this site is from old books before the 1900 and there may now be more information about a plant’s toxicity levels. ALWAYS be careful if you have allergies.
